Dark Secrets of Cedar Hall
by Linda S. Allison aka: mousekey
A Gothic mystery of dark secrets threatens a young girl's sanity and trust as
she struggles to overcome the evil lurking at Cedar Hall.
Lydia De Morely believed her luck had changed, when she and her mother Martha,
inherited Cedar Hall, high in the mountains over London, ending their days of
drudgery and poverty.
But fate had a different idea. Lydia loses her post to a wealthy matron, and
then rescues a homeless woman from a ruffian. She finds a handsome stranger is
not who he seems. An old gypsy's cryptic warning of danger fills her with
dread. Then Lydia's valuable brooch is stolen.
When they arrive at their new home, Lydia realizes Cedar Hall is not the place
she imagined. The dour housekeeper receives them with a chilly welcome.
Unearthly roses appear throughout the crumbling mansion. When Lydia discovers
an old doll, sinister things begin to happen, but no one believes her, adding
to her fears.
Who is the shadowy stranger lurking around the grounds, and which of the two
handsome men can she trust? One has captured her heart, the other her
friendship. For both of them hide secrets behind smiling faces.
Can Lydia solve the sinister secrets that threaten to tear them apart? Or will
she be the next victim of the evil that dwells at Cedar Hall.
