Blurb for Dark Descent

Cande Hernadez is a police officer in the small east Texas town of DryLake.  Life is a nice routine of speeding tickets, minor barroom brawls and keeping an eye on the local teens as they crusise the town square on Friday nights.  At least until attorney Thomas Drack moves to town and opens his practice right next to City Hall.

But when six year old Becky Daily falls down and abandoned well Cande must overcome her claustrophobia and trust the handsome attorney to aid in the rescue of Becky. At the bottom of the well, Cande finds a skeleton and items that link the remains to her own kidnapping at age sixteen.

Now, Cande must discover the identity of a serial killer and find his next victiim before it is too late.  Along the way she must come to grips with the attraction she feels for Thomas and learn what it means to give her heart to a real man.

Jean Lauzier is one of the hottest new writers in years.  Dark Descent is filled with great characters, gripping suspense and sizzling romantic tension.
